Love At First Sight?

Is love at first sight possible?

When I was in college, I worked at a health club.Β  This one guy used to come in every day; I remember telling a co-worker, “that is the one I am going to marry.”

We talked and laughed every time he came in. Finally, I got the nerve and asked him to dinner. He smoothly turned my question around and asked me, “Can I take you to dinner.”

Thirty-four years later, we are about to celebrate our twenty-eighth wedding anniversary.

Is love at first sight possible?

When I was thirty, my husband and I had our son.

Before giving birth, I thought, how would I connect with a son? Would he like me? Could I ever lose the 60 pounds I gained? Did I think I would be able to work and be a mom?

Little did I know a different kind of love at first sight existed.

The moment my son was born, the love I felt was one I had not felt before.Β  A sense of protection over him and even fear that our hearts were one.

Love, at first sight, is possible.

There is not just one size fits all type of love. It is such a big word with so many meanings.

My son asked me one time, how do you know if you are in love? I tried to explain that love is not just the perfect moment. Love is when you are strong enough to weather all types of moments.

Our constant is Love.

The way we love our parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and mentors. We have a different love for nature, trees, flowers, oceans, mountains, and the sky.

Love, at first sight, is possible.

My husband still gives me butterflies in my stomach, and I love him more each day.

When you don’t see it, love is always there.

  1. Oh, I’m not totally sure if I “believe in” love at first sight, but I do know that I have been in love with my husband since I was 20 (and now I’m 64!!). We had a long time out, however, and married 13 years ago.
